Chalk
Chalk is a sedimentary rock of non-clastic carbonate, which is a type of limestone composed of the mineral calcite. Shaheen provide an exceptional quality chalk having soft and fine-grained surface. The color of the limestone rock is white-to-grayish. It is composed of shells such as foraminifera, coccoliths, and rhabdoliths of tiny marine organisms. In the shape of the mineral calcite, the purest forms contain up to 99 percent calcium carbonate. Shaheen provide chalk which has stronger weathering and slumping resistance. Shaheen Chalk was also frequently used for production of lime, Portland cement, putty, and polishing powders. Technologically, it is used as a filler, extender, or pigment in a wide variety of materials, including ceramics, putty, cosmetics, plastics, rubber, paper, and paints. Chalk is stable compound, but has poor covering control in oil. It helps direct gloss, include texture, take up oil, and also offer plasticity.
Shaheen Chalk is of wide technical interest. Shaheen Chalk is used for cements, powders (as soft abrasive and polishers) crayons and fertilizers. It is used as a raw material for cement, as a source of controlling acidity and neutralizing acid gasses produced in power plants. Shaheen Chalk may be utilized in agriculture sector due to its basic nature. It is used to increase pH in soils having high acidity. It is used as filler and as white pigment in paper and plastic industry. Shaheen chalk is full of exceptional properties such as porosity, permeability and capillary entry pressure. Furthermore, chalk is an ultimate material for cleaning and polishing of metals.
